What WB kit do I need?

Beitrag von courage2000 »

Hello!

I don't speak german sorry.

I have my self made Simple EVSE 22kW charger:
- Simple EVSE DIN (Modbus enabled)
- Simple EVSE WIFI
- 5V, 1a for WIFI
- 38A contactor

I'll soon install a 22kW PV installation, with a Fronius Inverter.

1. What parts do I need to buy from you, in order to use the excess PV energy?

From what I see here, I need a Rpi, a USB-R485 converter and an energy meter (SMD 630).

2. Is there any way I can use directly the Modbus version of SMD 630 v2 (not to use USB - R485 converter)?
If so, how can I connect SMD 630 v2 to RpI pins?

3. Do I need to remove the Simple EVSE Wifi in order to use OpenWB ?

Thank you

openWB supports EVSE Wifi.
What you need:
- compatible Meter for EVSE Wifi (S0 / RS485 (SDM630v2)
- openWB Standalone
Supportanfragen bitte NICHT per PN stellen.
Hardwareprobleme bitte über die Funktion Debug Daten senden mitteilen oder per Mail an support@openwb.de

1. Is there any info on how to connect the meter to RPi, what pins?
2. I have a DTS238-4-M.
http://www.chinaenergymeter.com/product ... -D3403.pdf

Seems to be S0 enabled (12 and 13 - Test pulse output).

It will work?
3. From what I understand
S0 must be connected to RS485/USB converter from Rpi, correct?

Hey,
pls. divide into
* gridmeter and
* charging meter

OpenWB standalone reads gridmeter (EVU-kit or sometimes from PV-Inverter or storage) directly by LAN.
EVSE-Wifi reads it's own charging meter (S0 or RS485 (SDM630v2)) and delivers charging values by API.

With Covid19, I've just finished the building and I'm waiting for the PV installation.

So, from what I understand, the charging meter RS485 (SDM630v2) is optional for my home installation (only one user).

OpenWB should work with the grid meter for PV charging modulation

Thank you!

Charging Meter SDM630 is not optional. It's necesarry for WB control (feedback power & A per phase).

EVU-meter is most important for controling feedin & consumption, but if not available you can use a fixed value.

PV-Meter is option. Only to see PV-values - not for controlling.

If your PV will have an EVU-meter, it could be compatible to openWB as well.
There is a compability list on the website of openWB.
Otherwise you would need the EVU-Kit to be able to charge controlled according PV power.

My Type B RCD, Rpi3 and meter SDM630v2 are are planned to be in the main electric enclosure, inside the building.
The SimpleEVSE Wifi charging station is outside the building ~15m.

As I already have Simple EVSE DIN, with Modbus, but no RS485 module I see two options:

1. I get a "UART - RS485 converter" for my SimpleEVSE DIN, hook it to an RS485 - WLAN converter (I have very good WIFI coverage).
I will not use the EVSE WIFI anymore.
OpenWB will control the station directly via Modbus.

rPI3 (lan connected) + USB-RS485 converter to connect the SDM630v2 (on EV charger circuit) inside the electric panel, in the building

2. I use the existing charging station (SimpleEVSE WIFI), but I will integrate an S0 counter outside (next to the charging station).
I have a hiking dts238-4-m S0 enabled meter.
The SimpleEVSE WIFI will communicate via API with OpenWB the charging current, but I'm not so sure if S0 is reading the current amperage used.
